Fresh from their first quest in Delvund, the bearers head north to the mountainside town of Paysley Dawn, where they soon learn that the town's water source is being polluted by a man-eating monster. Seeing the monster as their next quest, the four youths infiltrate the gossip-fueled town and attempt to separate the rumors from the truth with regard to the mysterious creature.
