Deloria is captured by the witch of the Desert Swamps of Dank'La and it is up to her friends to find her. Little do the bearers know that the Vasserine is far away, locked within a rolling iron cell deep within the remaining forests of West Asprus. The young helpless bearer is being escorted back home where Lord Draedan Sifferus plans to rip her Sigil from her neck, leaving her friends with little time to save her. Facing the witch in her own territory proves more than challenging for the bearers, and she tricks Pim into giving up his knife, which threatens to leave him trapped in the desert forever.
